Traditional bathrooms provide specific enclosures and facilities, which are often unsuitable for people with mobility issues and those possibly requiring wheelchair access.
Stepping into a traditional bath can become impossible for the less able person, especially when there may not be a family member or carer to assist. Accessible baths provide a practical solution to a comfortable bathing experience by way of a watertight integrated door.
Stepping into a traditional shower is often problematic for the less able person, especially when walking aids, wheelchairs or hoists are required. Accessible showers offer the ultimate in practicality and comfort. A home survey and needs assessment will determine whether a step-in, low-level or level-access shower is the most suitable product for your current and future requirements.
When we design an adapted bathroom, we will also consider the wider functionality of associated sanitary items, such as the toilet, wash hand basins and any user transfers within the space. For many of our clients we suggest replacing the existing toilet with a new raised height one, making it easier for the user to get on an off. This movement can be further assisted by providing special drop-down rails or additional grab rails to help the transfers.
